Life is like that

There is once during dinner, I have this discussion with one of my colleague. His wife pass away in a road accident. She left him 2 children, a girl with 4 years old and a little boy who are just 1 year old.

When my colleague is young, he spent all his time to earn a living to raise up the 2 children. At that time, he is young and physically strong, healthy and energy without spending time to his life or children. When he is old now, he got the money and time but his body condition no longer allow him to go hiking, rock climbing. He also want to spend more time with the 2 kids but they already in high school with their own friend. No more sticky to the family. He said, that is the arrangement of God. Why we cannot have life in the other way?

Young with money, time.
Old with family, good body.

One of my best friend's father is diagnose with lung cancer. Fourth stage. Nothing can be done. When I hear the news, I wish to say something to make her feel better or offer her some help. But, I don't know what I can do nor what I can say. However, she is handling well, she told me life is like that.

I really don't like this sentence. Why life have to be like that?
Why there are so many things that we cannot change in our life?
We appreciate life, we love our life, we live our life to the maximum, but why?
Why life is like that?

it's a gud mind boggling article! life's a carousel, sometime up,sometime down. the way we see life shapes our life!let's see our lives from the view of the almighty-'life's a test, life's a trust n life is a temporary assignment here on earth.don't worry much about life as we're citizens of heaven-earth's not our final hme!remember life is all about love!!

dear CL,

There are certain things in life that are certain. Some old English farts once quoted "Nothing is certain excerpt for tax and death.". As for the rest of us, i would like to think that we choose our own path and destiny. and whatever eventually happened, particularly challenges- humans tend to be self-sympathised, and hence the quote "life is like that". You have yet to meet a rich young man who have plenty of time to 'lament' "life is like that" right? They will claim that it is their own hardwork that brought them the good fortune. We are proud and self-centered when things are good, and when things are bad, "life is like that".

Anywya, sorry to hear about your friend's father. It is true though, coz nothign you can say that will make things better. Do encourage her of the great future ahead, and how the dad would like her to be happy. Eventually, we all die. From now to then, make the best out of it?

if the consequences is something after what we choose, i have nothing to say. But most of the times, we did nothing. Indeed, we always fight for our it still it comes the other way.
